about our founder

Jennifer Wilson Pressley is Ronnie Gene Wilson's daughter; Ron orchestrated the largest Ponzi scheme in South Carolina history. After a seven-year-long (2012-2019) public shame-based trauma, Jennifer founded the Garment of Praise Ministry in 2021 to serve true crime families, victims of public shaming, and those who feel invisible in their pain.

Jennifer Wilson Pressley has been married to her best friend Shawn for over 3 decades. With more than 30 years of teaching experience, Jennifer has a unique gift for breaking down Scripture and presenting it in a way that connects deeply with everyday struggles. She has earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Presbyterian College, a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Bob Jones University, and 30 hours beyond her Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of South Carolina Upstate.

Her passion for this ministry was born out of her own story.

As a criminal’s kid (CK), Jennifer endured trauma, ostracism, and second-hand consequences that reshaped her life. But through those hardships, she encountered the restoring power of God’s Word. Today, she uses her testimony to bring light into dark places and to remind others that God can restore reputations, redeem stories, and rebuild lives.

Through initiatives like the Joseph Project (supporting families of stolen persons) and the Daniel Project (advocating for death row survivors of failed executions), Jennifer leads Garment of Praise Ministry with a heart for advocacy, biblical truth, and community support.

“To learn how to regain our self-confidence (in Christ alone) during and after the trials of life.”

— Garment of Praise Mission Statement

Hi friend—

I know what it feels like to live under a shadow you didn’t choose. For years, I wrestled with questions like Will I ever like my life again? Will I ever feel a part of community again? My father’s hidden life brought a wave of loss and public shaming that left me feeling invisible.

But God met me there. He showed me that His Word has the power to unmask the enemy’s lies and remind us of who we are in Him. Out of my pain, He gave me a new calling: to help others step out of invisibility, stand strong in their identity in Christ, and find hope again.

If you are walking through trauma, shame, or unanswered questions, I want you to know—you are not alone. My prayer is that you’ll find encouragement here, and that together we’ll discover the beauty and confidence that can only be found in Christ.

with hope,
